Sorry, I meant HTTP actually. I'm more clear now that the intent is for the
Atom Service Document to be that well-defined second mechanism.

Parsing is about the same complexity for the web URLs head links method and
the Atom service document. If some lighter-weight mechanism is desired by a
dev, they will probably look for REST+Location header or magic redirect type
thing. No need for that now, though. The specification as it stands looks
good and supports the development use cases which seem most important to me.
+1 to the proposal.
