I favor what I think is described as option #2: branching.  The proposal say
"branch for recurrence"; is it further the case that said branch would be
the 0.5 branch?

There's a 0.5 of Cosmo available on osaf.us for interop testing now, so I
don't feel we're particularly blocked there.  Overall, I'm more worried
about seeing changes continuing into the trunk; I'd like what's going to be
running on osaf.us to start stabilizing, and a branch seems our primarily
mechanism for enforcing that.
