[Cosmo-dev] Stamping Model Concerns

Hi,

Sorry for not commenting on this earlier - I meant to do so after I
caught up a bit with you all on the new Storage stuff and but then I
forgot.

Anyhow I am concerned about the approach we are taking for Stamping.
It seems from the code (see org.osaf.cosmo.model.EventStamp for
example) that different types of Stamps are modelled as concrete
classes and tables in the database.

I know that we are only supporting a very limited # of stamp types
for Preview, but surely we want to storage of arbitrary data with
stamp types that a particular Cosmo server has never encountered. The
way things are now new tables and classes would (it seems) have to be
added, which doesn't seem like a very good solution.

Have you guys (Brian and Randy) I guess considered this, and if so do
you have some sort of (very high-level) plan for dealing with new
Stamp types post-preview?
