we've identified two issues with rc1 that are going to require an rc2 build:

5825: 0.2 -> 0.3 migration fails for users with '.' as the first or
second character in their username

5828: old CMP namespaces must be deprecated in 0.3, not removed

i should have fixes for both of these checked in later this afternoon.
these will be the only changes between rc1 and rc2 unless something
else comes up between then and now.
