yes, let me clarify. i am -1 on making any code changes to cosmo to
work around a problem in a single client that everybody agrees is
broken, especially when the company that makes the product surely has
the resources available to fix the problem.

if the chandler teams want to do something in this area, that's your
prerogative. i have neither a binding vote nor a strong opinion on how
it should behave :)
