John Townsend sent a note this afternoon with the suggestion that we
introduce ourselves to the list, so please consider this our introduction.
Briefly, Simdesk Technologies is a Houston TX-based company providing
scalable, secure, on-demand computing infrastructure, including file,
print, messaging and groupware services, across the Internet for
government, non-profit, and telecommunications clients. My team's
responsibilities include enhancement of our groupware services. Randy
Letness, Charles Mattair and I had a conference call with Brian and John
a couple weeks ago to explore areas of synergy between what we and OSAF
are trying to accomplish, and we believe that we identified some common
goals. That's the reason a fairly technical discussion of RDBMS data
models has been popping up lately on the list under the nondescript
subject "RE: conference call followup." Our focus at present is on
defining and prototyping a data model under Cosmo that can meet our
requirements, one which we hope will benefit the efforts of the Cosmo
team and other OSAF projects as well.
