dunno if these are large enough projects, but here are some items on
the wishlist for cosmo and jackrabbit:

 * acl-based security for cosmo
 * plugin architecture for cosmo authn/authz, with jcr, rdbms, ldap,
and shibboleth implementations
 * jmx mgmt of jackrabbit
 * jmx mgmt of cosmo
 * object mapping layer for jcr (think hibernate)
 * clustering for jackrabbit
