Hi all,

I'd like to have a 1 hour Cosmo meeting tomorrow at 2 pm. The
topics that I'd like to cover are listed below:

* Brian tells me that the Hibernate prototype is looking much more
promising than we anticipated. It is possible that we could get a
merged version of Cosmo that runs on top of Hibernate if we extended
the Cosmo 0.5 timeline. If we keep the original plan, then there
will be some amount of redundant work that Bobby will need to do in
order to get the UI running on top of just the merged code base
(Apparently Randy implemented some APIs that have not been
implemented on the merged JCR version). This is not a no brainer
decision, and we will not make a final decision on this until
Priscilla returns from her vacation, but I wanted us to have the
chance to understand all the issues and as many of the impacts on
dependencies (testing, hosted service, Chandler desktop alpha 4) as
possible. Brian please correct me if I have garbled anything here.

* Do we need to think about issuing server oriented releases of
Cosmo. Right now we appear to be on a path where releases of Cosmo
will be dictated by groups of UI features. However, the hosted
service will need to obtain features on a different schedule than the
UI feature schedule. One possible way of addressing this is to have
server oriented milestone releases of Cosmo in addition to UI feature
releases. We should also investigate other methods of addressing
these concerns.

* I'd like to have a sanity check on dates associcated with Cosmo
0.5. Today we had a minor surprise <http://wiki.osafoundation.org/
script/getIrcTranscript.cgi?
channel=cosmo&date=20060823&startTime=1320&endTime=1342> regarding
availability of merged builds. Possible inclusion of the Hibernate
merge notwithstanding, it seems like we might have some confusion
over estimated dates for 0.5

If there are other topics on people's minds, please repond to this
message. Also, if you don't want to wait for the meeting, please
reply, too.

Ted
