I'm creating these entries in Chandler 1.0 and now 1.0.1 under Linux. 
Default timezone is US/Eastern.

I'm on Linux.

With the "Create a new note." entry box at the top.

I actually have a collection which is itself named R&D, and its name 
shows up correctly in the list of collections on the left side, but the 
funny R-underlined-D for the right-hand-side "Appears in:" list when 
displaying items contained in the collection.
