Sounds like you, like me, are using a Lotus Domino server, and have an
un-indexed mail file. You can try enabling indexing from within Lotus
Notes, just go to the search pane and click on the red circle that
says "Not Indexed" and it should prompt you to enable it.
Whether or not you are actually able to index your Notes database, is
up to the whim of the particular Domino server and perhaps the
configuration. I have been wholly unsuccessful with indexing my mail
at my company here, and the helpdesk is taking their sweet time to try
and figure out the issue.

Perhaps chandler should try doing a check, whatever way it tries to
access data normally, to make sure that IMAP databases are actually
properly working?

This is Chandler's internal index I believe, not the mail server's,
where the error is being generated.
