Hello,
Reading the Dreaming in Code book was a delight for me, as I felt the
thrill of the
highs and the pain of the lows your team has gone through. I read the
book about a year
ago, and gave it to my business partners to read. Thinking about it
again a month ago,
I said hey, we're in need of a PIM for our business, let's give it a
look-see.
So, we recently installed the latest Cosmo Server and are running
Chandler Desktop on
OS X Leopard here at my office. We've run into a couple of snags of
varying degrees of
severity.
------------------------------------------
First, some relevant info:
------------------------------------------
+ server is running over https at 8443
+ server is up to date with latest build 0.15.1
+ desktops are all running OS X 10.5.2
+ all desktop clients are 0.7.6
+ client server communication is up ad running splendidly for most tasks
(by the way, your software was one of the easiest to configure and
install
ever. ran on first try!)
------------------------------------------
Biggest Issue - Sharing Collections
------------------------------------------
BUG #1: The first bug here is that when you choose invite, you only
see the view-and-edit
link, there is no view-only link.
BUG #2 ?: When I send that link to another user, and they try to
subscribe, the server
returns a 403, and a rather large XML message about insufficient
privileges. I put a
question mark on this, since it may be a privilege setting that I do
not know how to find,
rather than a bug. (If you want/need the XML message, I'll dig it up
for you).
------------------------------------------
Less Troubling Issue - Tools Menu Items
------------------------------------------
BUG #3: In the Desktop client, selecting Tools -> Show -> Mini-
Calendar or Tools -> Show ->
Detail View provokes a fatal error:
Seconds since last error: 6409

------------------------------------------
Thanks for any and all help you may be able to lend.
And thanks for the great products, and for pyLucene (use it in my
other life).
