[chandler-users] Chandler & GTD - a perfect match

Hi Marcelo,

I think we can all agree that a GTD plugin for Chandler would be cool
and attract users and we'll certainly help you in any way we can to
implement the plugin. :)

But I actually think Chandler is already innovating.

For me, the innovation in Chandler isn't any one cool feature.
Instead, I think of Chandler as a new way of putting together
features that already exist elsewhere: List View, Reminders, Status,
Calendar, Read-Write Sharing, Email, etc...

I think this is what Pierre-Francois means when he says "Sometimes
the "big and great" is just a whole lot of little things and it seems
to me that what you expect *is* happening." though I don't want to
read too much into what he said ;)

The innovation we're aiming for lies in what this new recombination
of features allows you to do, namely: Manage your tasks and schedule
in the context of developing the thoughts and ideas that will
ultimately drive and define the concrete next actions you take on.

The motivating idea behind Chandler is that work today is less about
"managing and completing tasks" and more about "thinking through what
needs to be done and why you're doing it in the first place":
Defining goals, identifying and following-up on open issues,
collecting and evaluating input and feedback, driving discussions to
make decisions, etc.

This idea is already embodied in the product you're using today. Our
challenge going forward is to make that more apparent to users.

That being said, please let us know how we can help you get started
on on a GTD plugin. The Chandler Development would be the best place
to start a discussion - http://lists.osafoundation.org/mailman/
