[chandler-users] Any Evernote users?

Hello Mimi,

I did use Evernote back in the time when I used to use Windows as my main
OS.

It seems they revamped the whole concept, even the website. Much more
professional now, cool.

What is **definitely not cool** is that they are not providing a Linux
version. Shame on them. Good for Chandler.

Now for my experience with the "old" Evernote. It was pretty cool, it stayed
in the windows tray when minimized (something I've been wanting Chandler to
do for a long time...), it provided some configurable shortcuts to dump data
into the notebook from any other program and also shortcuts to focus the
windows on a new note, so you could just press the shortcut and start typing
right away.

Each "note" could contain pretty much anything, from images to (If I
remember right) attachments, rich text, checbokes (for to-do items) and you
could even draw in the note. It had a template system for note so you could
create a custom template and use it to create your notes. For example, there
was a to-do template which had several checboxes you could use to input your
tasks.

Btw, rich text is something that I really miss in Chandler notes!

One thing that I did not like was its exaggerated graphic design. Awful!
Here is a sample: http://www.winplanet.com/img/screenshots/scr-evernote3.gif

It looked more like a PIM version of Windows Media Player 9! :P I think they
have fixed it by now though with this new version.

The revamped website and the new web2.0-like teasing is something I didn't
know. It seems they are committed to bringing users a better, updated
experience.

It was (is) a great product, indeed. And I used and liked it a lot. They are
loosing a lot of market by not releasing a Linux version. Definitely
Chandler could learn a lot from it in order to enhance its notebook aspects
:)

Hope this helps.

Marcelo.
