This computer is a fresh install of Hardy, so I installed libicu36
myself because of the missing dependency. libicu36 still appears in
the Hardy repositories, so this wasn't an issue. (I don't think I
adjusted the repositories in Synaptic, so this is probably a true
statement by default.)
However, I think that gdebi installs missing dependencies. Of course,
since I installed this without using gdebi, I'm running from memory
here.
I'd like to suggest that the .deb package installation instructions be
changed to simply double-click the package file inside Nautilus. This
launches gdebi in current versions of Ubuntu, and I would think that
it would start an appropriate package installer on any other system
based on Debian. This is more end-user friendly than using the
command line and dealing with any missing dependencies.
