Ah, thanks: I can reproduce this. I had a look and it turns out that  
there are some idiosyncracies on Linux with how our underlying  
graphics library (wx/wxPython) handles drag-and-drop. We have  
workarounds for this in the regular calendar view, but not the mini- 
calendar. I'll file a bug and fix this.
