Hm, you understand it correctly ;) It sounds like you have run into a
bug. Interoperation with Google Calendar through iCalendar is spotty.

Can I ask how you imported the calendar? Did you subscribe with
an .ics link, the one you get when you click on the green ICAL button
under Calendar Settings on Google? (See screenshot below.)

I just tried subscribing to a Google Calendar that way and all of the
events downloaded into Chandler and I can see them all in the
Dashboard collection. (Doesn't mean you haven't found a legitimate
bug though.)

Can you see all her events just fine when you have her specific
calendar collection selected in Chandler?

Can you describe to me the icon that appears to the right of your
daughter's calendar? (Assuming there is one.) Is it a grey down
arrow? Or a white down arrow on a grey circle?

Hm, each collection should have its own color. Are you seeing the
Dashboard collection as a Calendar? It should remain a list even in
the Calendar application area.

You can see a calendar with different colors by overlaying
collections. You can do that by clicking on the checkmark-tab thingy
that slides out when you mouse over a particular collection row.

That would be great!
