Hi Rebecca,
I sympathize! Just so we're both on the same page, let me try and
summarize your problem.
1. You tried to create Chandler IMAP folders by clicking on the
[Configure] folders button when you set up your "Incoming IMAP Mail
Account" in Chandler.
2. You can see the Chandler IMAP folders on your mail server. (I'm
assuming there's a web application you can use to access your mail?)
But you can't actually add any messages to them from the web
application. (Or is it that you can add them from the web
application, but can't see the in Chandler? If this is the case, I
have a few more tricks you can try.)
3. The Chandler IMAP folders don't show up in Thunderbird at all.
(I'm assuming you have other IMAP folders that do show up just fine
in Thunderbird.)
4. You have also tried setting up Chandler IMAP folders with your
GMail account, to no avail. (Again, I'm assuming that you have turned
on IMAP support in your GMail account under "Settings".)
Other users have written in about problems with the IMAP folders as
well. One user said that his problems went away after removing the
folders from the server and then reconfiguring them again.
It sounds unscientific, but it worked for him. Just go back to
File>>Accounts>>Incoming Mail and click [Remove] folders...and then
click [Configure] folders again.
Again, it may take a few hours for the folders to actually show up.
I am adding your scenario to bug 12143, which we're using to keep
track of IMAP folder related issues - https://
bugzilla.osafoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12143
Best,
Mimi
