Here's the approach I'm taking. I don't know if it is the best solution but
I will test it
this way.
I read a post where the author said that he was keeping all his collections
out of the
dashboard. I liked the idea and replicated it.
Now, even if the collection is kept out of the dashboard, individual items
can still be
tagged with "dashboard" (by dragging it).
So now each of my tasks are tagged with at least one of my collections. Only
the
tasks for which I will do something somewhere in the following week will be
tagged
with the "dashboard" tag.
Yes, "will be put in the dashboard" is the same thing for me. I just like
tags :)
At the end of the week, I will review my tasks and decide on a new "lot".
For the
tasks I consider done, I simply "remove" the dashboard tag (use the delete
key).
Since they're also tagged with another collection, they don't disappear
completely.
They're just kept out of the dashboard.
