[chandler-users] Chandler desktop - UI layout suggestion

Hi,

I've been using chandler desktop for a little while, and one thing that
keeps
itching at me is the UI layout.

Even though my laptop monitor can display resolutions like 1280x800
(ie. a so-called "wide" screen), I feel that it's still way too narrow to
properly
and simultaneously display the 3 panes of chandler desktop, namely the side
bar, the "items" pane and the "description" pane.

I'd love to be able to simultaneously see the whole title of an item, along
with
at least part of its other attributes, plus a description pane which can
still
display more than 3 words a line :)

Granted, French can be a bit wordy at times, particularly when you try to
write
meaningful titles (ala GTD "actions").

But still, I'm sure that something can be done about this problem.

Obviously, the number of things you can put on one line is necessary
limited,
so I came up with a new idea : why not *removing* some of those things ?

First, the "who" column. I use chandler for my own sake, and with no-one
else.
Honestly, I don't think I ever looked at this column since I read the
tutorial, and
it eats a lot of space : why not making it optional ?

Second and last : maybe you could add an option to turn the description pane
into a popup window ?
Or maybe you could make it "popup-able" or "detachable" (pick your term).
Much like in google chat, you know ?

Anyway, those are just suggestions but I was curious to see the reactions of
my fellow chandler-users ;-)
