Cool. The dialog says:
"Note: only emails from Chandler will be downloaded"

I didn't understand that emails NOT sent from Chandler WOULD
be downloaded from my gmail account
if
they are labeled INBOX/Chandler Mail
and
I clicked on 'Configure' when setting up the account

I found I can confuse things by manually creating a label
INBOX/Chandler mail (lowercase _m_ail)
before I click on 'Configure' in the dialog
- renaming the label to INBOX/Chandler Mail
fixed things nicely.
( I filed https://bugzilla.osafoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11886)

So, the special account I mentioned before, the one to which I forward
posts which want managing now labels all incoming as INBOX/Chandler Mail
and I'm tickled.

I don't need this at the moment because of (above), but
+1 to flexible methods of talking to the Chandlerbot.
curious, how would one create a 'flag' ?

, and a way to

This is described as
Placeholder for work and tasks to be scoped out by Jared.

Yes!
I don't see the utility of gathering only from:Chandler, but since
it's easy to override that, I'm happy.

I really like the pattern of flagging/tagging/labeling an email as
"I want this to be managed by Chandler"
and having this work across mail accounts
