Hi,
I first had my attention drawn to chandler about a year ago when I read
about it in the context of Scott Rosenburg's book, and I tried out the 0.6
release. Of course after that there was the announcement of
re-organization, the predictions of the death of the project, etc. Chandler
kind of faded from my view, until I heard about the 1.0 release, and I so I
thought I would give it a try again.
I have to say that I am enjoying using it. The biggest features that it
offers to me are as follows:
- Syncing to chandler hub and back. I use chandler on my computer at work
and at home, and I will often make notes related to work activities and
outside activities. I could be at work and remember I need to buy a certain
type of grocery. With the hub I can enter this, sync it, and when I get
home be reminded of this. This is probably the key feature that I use
chandler for, ahead of say Sunbird or Evolution.
-Cross-platform. At work I primarily develop on Windows, and at home I use
Linux. Being able to run the desktop app on both with identical
functionality is great.
-Desktop app. As an addendum to my previous point, I enjoy having the
ability to use the desktop app. Although the Chandler web hub is very nice
and functional, I still prefer the responsiveness and feel of desktop apps.
Overall I am very please with Chandler, and it is the first real
calendaring/todo app that I have ever used. It has helped me become more
organized and I look forward to enhancements and bug fixes being added.
Keep up the good work!
Jeff G.
