[chandler-users] Calendar stamping an item that already has time
and date information

Hello List,
(Please pardon if this question is an old topic around here. I'm new to
Chandler and to the list, but excited to try out Chandler after reading
_Dreaming in Code_ earlier this summer.)
I downloaded Chandler for the first time last night. This morning, I demoed
it to a colleague using web-conferencing software. (It turns out that he is
a Lotus Agenda fan -- he'd been using it up to last year -- which I didn't
know until I mentioned a little about the history of Chandler and he became
very excited.)
I created a new item: "Meeting with so and so next Thursday at 11am". Sure
enough, the item was created and was marked with the correct date and time.
So then I go to show my colleague how easy it is to stamp items in
different ways. After clicking the calendar stamp, I went to the calendar
and displayed next week to find...no new meeting event. In the end, it
turns out that the item did appear in the calendar, but instead of using the
time and date that it so cleverly picked up when the item was created, the
date in the calendar was today, with no time.
I can understand items defaulting to today when they have no date and time
associated with them, but it seems like a natural extension of the Chandler
philosophy for the date and time already associated with an item to become
the default calendar time-stamp for that item. Am I missing something? Or
is this perhaps already on the wish-list?
Thank You,
Daniel
