What OS are you running ?
What are the hardware details of your computer ?

If you're running Windows and you're running a virus checker (as seems to be 
implied by the bottom of your message) did you tell the virus checker to 
skip the Chandler repository directory ?

By default, your repository directory is inside your profile directory whose 
location is described here [1]
