Here's some feedback in no particular order.
1) It wasn't obvious to me and likely not obvious to others that the
way I should add a calendar from another source was through Share ->
Subscribe. iCal has it under Calendar -> Subscribe which is definitely
more obvious to me. I guess the main issue is that Share kind of
indicates that this is how I'm going to let others know about my
calendar whereas I may just be interested in seeing some other
calendar that may or may not be public.
2) The import of my calendar took a really long time and there was no
feedback that it was working other than the entire application seemed
to freeze up while this was going on. I did the import by dragging an
ics file onto Chandler. The file was exported from Google Calendar. A
status bar would be quite helpful and would help to indicate that the
app was actually going to come back. Ideally, I would be able to
interact with the app while the import was going on.
3) After the import, I have 2370 items in the "Done" section of my
dashboard. I'm not really sure what I'm supposed to do now. Do I
delete the items from "Done" or does that remove them from my
calendar? What is a good description of how to use this feature -
especially with large calendars like mine?
4) The dashboard scrolling is a bit slow with all of my items.
5) There is a panel on the left that shows me the current 5 items in my
calendar. If I select one of the items in this list, it shows me
detail on the right but there is no feedback on the list that the item
is selected.
6) The graphical feedback on the overlay selectors is strange. It isn't
obvious to me (from the icons) when they are in the selected vs
deselected state. They also seem to be tri-state but I can't for the
life of me figure out what the third state is for.
7) Is there some way to go to a month view that contains more data on it?
8) What does the Triage button do? I realize that I need to RTFM. I
think it is important that somewhere during the initial installation
of Chandler that you present a simple page of documentation that
explains what it is that is special about Chandler. My sense is that
this is the whole triage work flow and I think the current first
installation of the app doesn't make this clear. I would recommend
even launching a browser and loading the page that explains the triage
concept - maybe with a flash demo.
