[chandler-users] Search results reflect calendar overlays on desktop

Hi Everyone,

I just figured out that search results for event items reflect how one's
calendars are overlayed. Q. Is this behaving as designed?

Now that I understand it, I can live with it, and may even find it
useful. However, for a few minutes I was certain I had found a bug.

Here's an example. Imagine four event items having the word "coffee" in
their title (or body) appearing once each in four collections (A, B, C,
D). Each collection has one of the four event items in it, and each
event item appears in only one of the four collection. Collection A is
included in the Dashboard. All four collections (A, B, C, and D) are
overlayed in the Calendar view.

Searching for the string "coffee" (/f coffee) will display the following
results based on the selection in the sidebar and the selected view
filter on the toolbar.

Sidebar Selection -- View Filter --> Search Result

Dashboard -- All --> 1 hit for the item in collection A

Dashboard -- Calendar --> 1 hit for the item in collection A

Collection A -- All --> 1 hit for the item in collection A

Collection A -- Calendar --> 4 hits for all four items in collections A,
B, C, and D

Collection B -- All --> 1 hit for the item in collection B

Collection B -- Calendar --> 4 hits for all four items in collections A,
B, C, and D

...and so forth for collections C and D.

Cheers, Andre
