[chandler-users] [DF] Displaying an item's entire displayname

Hi Chandler Desktop team,

I would like to suggest consideration be given to providing some way for
the Chandler desktop preview release to display an item's entire
subject/Title/displayname field. My favorite potential option is to have
the entire displayname appear as a tool tip somewhere, anywhere.

No, not a blocker, but something that in my opinion would make Chandler
measurably more usable. Currently when an item's displayname is of the
longer variety, if I have exhausted my options for resizing columns in
the table view, decreasing the number of displayed hours in the calender
view, or resizing the width of the detail view, I will resort to putting
the displayname field into edit mode in any one of these places and use
the navigation keys to traverse the entire name.

In my usage, it seems to me that event names have the lowest possibility
of being very long, but can be long regularly, and on smaller monitors I
resort to reducing the displayed hours. Task names seem to run the
longest, often for clarity as to what the item is about. Email subjects
have the variety inherent to email, but seem to tend to be shorter.
Notes seem to have shorter topical titles.

On a side-note, but notably, of late, the "tip of the trunk" continuous
builds have been particularly stable for me, and, yes, faster and
faster, even with the debug build, (but, of course, always with mvcc
enabled). :-)

Thanks much, Andre
