FWIW, I believe we've seen "Tentative" in use by people who look like
our target users "Apex" and "Assistant". "Apex" is our term for a person
at the head of a small organization (CEO, Director, etc.) who often has
an assistant who helps manage a calendar.
Two current pairs of Apex/Assistant "dogfooders" are Mitch and his
assistant Esther, and Freada and her assistant Greg. (Freada's
organizations share office space with us here at OSAF world
headquarters.) Esther explained to me that she uses "Tentative" for
travel that is not yet confirmed, and that Greg uses "Tentative" to hold
time on Freada's calendar before events are "Confirmed".
It would be interesting of course to hear from others who use "Tentative".
For the curious, more information about our target users here:

Cheers,
Katie
