Hi Keith:
I think that the main reason that Show Toolbar | Sidebar, etc. was
moved to tools was because of bugs -- see bug#9340 comments below.
That may also be true of the Select View menu as I mentioned below,
however, as I also point out, I recently fixed Select View bugs.

Chandler Version: 0.7.dev-r14442 **DEBUG build**
observed on Mac (Intel), Ubuntu
View >> Show/ Hide menu shows no check marks next to "mini-calendar" and
"detail view" even though they are visible. This is inconsistent
with other
visible items in this menu section which display check marks in the
menu when
the item is visible. Clicking these unchecked items raises an
assertion error.

Now that the menu items is moved off to "Tools", park this bug in the
future to
come back and fix up the feature.
