in terms of CalDAV, free-busy is part of scheduling. there's some
limited specification for per-calendar free-busy queries in the CalDAV
access spec, but nobody really uses it outside of scheduling features.

i've updated the Mozilla bug you linked to earlier in the thread to
make it clear that Cosmo does not yet support CalDAV scheduling, so
the Sunbird and Lightning free-busy features won't work with Cosmo for
the moment.
