Hi Brian,
Seems to me that flagging has a more "lightweight" feeling than dragging
to a folder. It is only one click, and you have visual feedback in your
inbox that the item was flagged.
fwiw, I think it would be an improvement for me personally as a user for
getting messages from my inbox into Chandler. Losing the folder trick
for stamping-as-event would be worth the flagging affordances.
It doesn't have various other advantages that a full Tbird plugin has,
but would work from multiple mail clients.
