I'm not sure I understand your question quite frankly. We have conflict
when merging items with the same UUIDs. Are UUIDs saved with ics files?
(needs to for the question on conflict when importing to make any
sense). In that case, I'd say that, indeed, we should not modify the
repo version of the item when importing (no overwrite), at least, not
without asking the question to the user ("Do you want to overwrite?").
I do feel though that in such a case we could have a global unique
prompt (i.e. overwrite or not) rather than going through the merge and
conflict code. The use case for such an import is a sort of "backup"
scenario (e.g. I saved to ics, made changes and now want to go back to
that older version) so merge/conflict seems overkill to me.
Thoughts?
