Chandler-dev summary
--------------------

*Using Eclipse to debug wxWidgets on Ubuntu*
Heikki posted notes on how to use Eclipse wxWidgets project files for
wxGTK. This enables one to build/debug wxWidgets with Eclipse on Ubuntu.

*Checkpoint status*
Dan gave status of the May 1 checkpoint build:

*wxColumnHeader committed*
David noted that he has committed the wxColumnHeader/wxGrid integration.
David documented the 'gory details' on a wiki page.

*Alpha2 feature freeze*
Alpha2 feature freeze went into effect Tuesday, May 2. Only bug fixes
should be committed, and require review before commit.
http://lists.osafoundation.org/pipermail/chandler-dev/2006-May/005870.html

Bear explained that any bug approved for Alpha2 (target milestone) that
has been reviewed by at least one other peer can be checked in. Commits
should include bug # and reviewer (bug 1234, r=stearns). Icon,
documentation changes should have bugs as well, as this helps QA and
Release folks track what is going on.

*No more tears*
Bear proposed some changes to aid in 0.6 --> 0.7 migration. In
particular, Bear proposed not installing Chandler 0.7 on top of Chandler
0.6, so that 0.6 could still be run to back up data. We'd continue to do
this until we have a better upgrade solution. Heikki added some details
about directory names.

*Reviewing code you don't know*
Heikki gave some advice about reviewing code you don't know. He
encouraged people not to rubber-stamp approval. Do a syntactic review.
Look for performance problems or style issues. Ask questions --
answering them may help the reviewer and you will learn about the code.

Alec gave a metaphor about driving that I won't try to summarize, adding
that listening to Andi's rationale for recent set/collection changes has
helped him understand notifications, sets and the repository:

*Stamping proposal*
Katie proposed using annotations to implement stamping:

*Docstring cleanup pass*
Bear noted that he's doing a pass through the code to fix epydoc
warnings and errors (a lot of little changes). He'll also update
copyright strings. Andi was concerned about merges given his work on
multiple branches. Bear explained that there is no better time, and that
the branch merges should go smoothly.
