[Chandler-dev] Custom controllers still needed?

This came up in bug
https://bugzilla.osafoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5025 but I think this
might be of more general interest so posting here.

When you select Test > Certificates > Manage Certificates we no longer
switch to all view and select first cert to display in detail view. Same
problem with Flickr, EVDB and Amazon parcels. Photo import works like it
should, but it uses a custom controller. I thought I needed to
reintroduce a custom controller to do this, too. But John said:

"Controllers and custom events are no longer neecessary. It's much
simpler to
just use a ModifyCollectionEvent like you do when you add a certificate
to the
sidebar. Check out the flickr code for an example that uses a
ModifyCollectionEvent to bring up a dialog."

I don't know how to make us switch to all view and select first item
from the summary list using ModifyCollectionEvent. Does anyone know?
