I don't think others see this mysterious 7.5 s delay. My guess would be
that for some reason creating an SSL context is taking most of this time
on your computer. I would need to work with you to do some shortcuts to
determine if this is the case (or you could change the code in
certstore/ssl.py to create the context as that file is imported and
returning that context on demand to see if it makes a difference).
