[Dev] Feedback on repository documents requested

First of all let me say thanks for updating the documentation!

I've just done a first pass thru so I don't have any detail notes but I  
will be making another pass tonight or tomorrow.  I did have one  
question about the mentioning of repository paths (i.e. //path/to/item)  
- is that still "allowed" or is it being deprecated?

again, thanks for the doc updates.
