[Dev] Build: generated code

We already have some generated code checked into the tree, as well as 
some generated documentation checked into the tree. I agree that the 
best way to handle these would be to have them part of our build 
process, rather than checked in. There are pros and cons to both 
approaches. I've added this point to be discussed in the build futures 
meeting this afternoon.
